Holy Smokes! Something New!

Today I discovered K & Co's new SMASH Journal! I love it! I discovered it because I got an e-news from Stop and Scrap inviting people to pre-order this product—which I would have done in a heartbeat if they weren't sold out of the pre-orders already. While searching to see if I could find it somewhere else I discovered that SMASH has a blog. They are in my active blog list on the right, but here is the link:

Take a look at the video and see if you like it too. This is the way I normally keep track of what I do so why didn't I think of this? Hmmmmm  I can't wait until it comes out. I love all the extra little goodies that go with it too.

Once Upon a Springtime Fairy House

This is also from Laura Denison's Hexagonal Box pattern. This was done in quite a rush, otherwise I would probably have added a few more embellies. I think when I make another one the flowers holding the pockets together will need to be reinforced. I can see the sharp edges of the acrylic pages popping those in two before long. I also learned a couple of things by trial and error for the next one. :)

Life Can Be A Circus Mini

This is Laura Denison's pattern called Hexagonal Box.

Flora and Fauna Paper Bag Mini

Or click HERE to see it larger on YouTube.

This is a paper bag mini using the Kay & Co Flora and Fauna paper collection. The assembly is Kathryn at the Scrap[beach]'s take on the bag that was originally designed by Kathy Orta of Paper Phenomenon. Kathryn just made a few minor modifications to the way it was bound and added chipboard to one side of each page for extra strength. I finished the pages on my own because I couldn't watch the rest of the class after the first page due to pesky computer problems. I didn't even end up binding it the same way Kathryn plans to (her album isn't finished yet). Sometimes life just does not cooperate.

Some of my pages are not embellished a lot because I like the paper and wanted it to show, and also because I ran out of time to give it proper thought. :)  (I have to give it a lot of proper thought.)  I was also trying to only use supplies I already have on hand. I am on a scrapbooking spending freeze at the moment, or as someone said "a scrapbooking diet". But.....we know diets don't work for long, right?
